We are truly sorry to see it go. Is alt.country dead or will it just be given away for free now? If houses start selling again, will alt.country, or whatever that is, come back?

NOVEMBER 2006
Purchase both frozenstarpalace and the new Voices and Faces Benefit Project compilation cd from Miles of Music, Amazon.com, Virgin Megastores, and great local record stores around the U.S. like Atomic Records (Milwaukee), Fingerprints (L.A.), and Waterloo Records (Austin). The Voices and Faces Benefit cd includes Michelle's "White Lies" alongside contributions from Michelle Shocked, Bird York, Motion City Soundtrack, Jon Rauhouse, Martha Berner, Strays Don't Sleep, Neko Case, Joseph Arthur, The New Pornographers, Nora O'Connor, Jesse Sykes, Sally Timms, Kelly Hogan, David Garza, Fielding.

KUT Austin spins the album on Eklektikos. KGSR plays "Lead Glass Tiffany Shades" on its new music Sunday program. The album is also getting support from Maryland-based WTMD.

From Chicago Tonight press release: "On Wednesday 5/17 Chicago Tonight will feature a live performance by singer/songwriter Michelle Anthony, as part of its weekly music-in-the-studio segment. Anthony will perform “White Lies” a song she’s contributed to a benefit CD for the Voices and Faces Project, a non-profit national network created to give voice and face to survivors of sexual violence. In addition to Anthony’s performance, the segment will also include an interview with Voices and Faces founder, Anne Ream."

1-25-06. Michelle is finished mixing and mastering her sophomore release with producer Barry Goldberg. Barry has worked with Fleetwood Mac, Smashing Pumpkins, Rickie Lee Jones, Michelle Shocked, among many others. The new album, frozenstarpalace, will be released summer 2006.
We hope to bring you sound clips and more insightful information about the record in the near future. In the meantime, check out the amazing new song called "Mirage People" from the Capitol Years.

Rock critic and author Ann Powers writes "Music in the Aftermath": a piece on Hurricane Katrina that offers songs "that might do art's magic of helping people ponder the unthinkable in its aftermath."
"Don't Deny" is available free from Download.com, where the song was in the adult alternative top 10 for August and September.

Reviews/Interviews: Reviews of SFR in Roots Highway (Seattle) and Playback (St. Louis). A feature article runs in the Edwardsville Intelligencer (IL). Jim Lundstrom of the Post-Crescent puts SFR in his top 10 list of '04, Scott Greenberg of WHFR (Detroit) lists the CD as a top 10 favorite and No Depression's Jon Gilbertson puts it in his top 20.
NOVEMBER 2004:
Michelle is on the cover of Milwaukee's "M" magazine (northshore edition). This issue is titled: "Best of Milwaukee."

OCTOBER 2004:
Shows: Michelle and Scott recently opened for k.d. lang and Bruce Cockburn at "Mountain Stage" at the Keith Albee Theater in Hungtington, WV. Other guests on the show were Kaki King and Mariza. This program is now being broadcast on fine public radio stations throughout the country.
Recording news: Ryan Hedgecock recorded Michelle's version of "Forbidden Flowers" for the Tom T. Hall project in LA this month. A couple of new songs were recorded at Media Creature Music.
Radio Updates: SFR is now getting played on Music Choice Cable Radio (Adult Alternative), WMSE (Milwaukee), WRAX (Birmingham), and WYRS (New Jersey). Reviews/Picks: The Kansas City Star lists the June 11 gig as a critic's pick and kindly welcomes Michelle and the band back "home" to the KC area where she grew up. The Columbia Daily Tribune (Columbia, MO) features the June 10 show as a critic's pick.
MAY 2004:
If you live in the Greater Milwaukee area, tune into WUWM (89.7 FM) for Bruce Winter's Cafe Tonight and Saturday at the Cafe to hear songs from the new album. WUWM is Milwaukee's NPR affiliate.
The song White Lies will be used in the television series Roswell, available on DVD.
The upcoming album Stand Fall Repeat will be released nationally on August 10. A limited number of copies can be purchased online through Miles of Music.
MARCH 2004:
The upcoming album Stand Fall Repeat makes the Freeform American Roots list for March. FAR is a monthly radio chart reported to by 125 freeform DJs, primarily in the US, but also Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Scotland, France, Holland, Germany, Italy and Uruguay. Thanks to Scott Greenberg at WHFR for naming SFR his album of the month for March.

Detroit's WHFR 89.3 FM is regularly playing songs from the upcoming album Stand Fall Repeat on the weekly show "Debts No Honest Man Can Pay."
JANUARY 2004:
Onmilwaukee.com interviews Michelle about her new band and the upcoming album Stand Fall Repeat. The Shepherd Express chooses the band's first show in Milwaukee (1/16/04) as a critic's pick.
A three song sampler is now available at shows. Songs include: "Closer" and "Don't Deny," recorded in Chicago at Pieholden, and a newly recorded track entitled "White Lies."
DECEMBER 2003:
A Christmas collaboration between Michelle and Afrodisiac Soundsystem can be found on "Christmas Eclectic" which is available at Tower Records and other cool retail stores.

The independent film "Black Cloud" directed by Rick Schroder will use the tune "Closer" in the movie.
